ScanJet 5100C/­Cse/­Cxi/­5200C/­Cse/­Cxi software/­driver update for HP Scanjet 5100cxi Scanner (PC) Type: Driver This software update installs the new Windows 2000 Pro compliant parallel drivers for the 5100c and 5200c HP scanners.­ This update must be run on the Windows 2000 Pro operating system.­ Upgrade your operating system (OS) to Windows 2000 Professional.­ Make sure your scanner is connected and powered on before the upgrade.­ Run this file.­ (See Installation Instructions below.­) This will upgrade the parallel drivers to the Windows 2000 Professional versions of the drivers.­ Reboot your computer.­ At reboot a text file will be displayed that describes how to enable interrupts on the parallel port.­ It is not a difficult procedure but must be done manually.­ The scanner will function without the interrupts enabled,­ but conflicts with other connected parallel devices may occur.­ If the interrupts are enabled,­ the conflicts will not occur.­ Follow the instructions in the text file to enable the interrupts.­ For complete instructions on upgrading your operating system to Windows 2000 Professional for use with 5100C Series and 5200C Series Scanners Click Here.­ Manual Installation Instructions Choose the file you want to download to your system.­ With your mouse,­ click on the file.­ You will now be prompted to select the folder (subdirectory) where the download will be placed on your hard disk.­ (Example: If you wanted to download to your C:/­TEMP you would select that folder from the list of folders in the download "Save As" Screen.­) Now open the C:/­TEMP folder (if that was your selected folder),­ and double-click on the file you downloaded.­ This file will decompress into a default folder c:/­sj269w2k,­ or any folder of your choice.­ You will find the SETUP.­EXE file in the c:/­sj269w2k folder,­ or the folder that you chose.­ Double-click the SETUP.­EXE file to activate the software installation.­
